Snoring Disorder (Sleep Apnea)

For most people snoring is not a serious health issue. But for others snoring can be a sign of a serious health issue and may be a sign of sleep apnea. Sleep apnea is when a sleeper has episodes of disrupted breathing where he/she is not able to get enough oxygen and may show signs of gagging or choking and will wake up multiple times during the night . Usually when one wakes up they'll have no recollection of it.

To find out if you have sleep apnea have your spouse or someone else observe you when you go to sleep and have them watch out for episodes where you may have difficulty breathing or waking episodes. Also if you have a dry mouth when you wake up and/or feel like you have gotten a good amount sleep yet feel tired and fatigued throughout the day you may have sleep apnea. If you think you may have sleep apnea it is best to go and consult a doctor to find a treatment for you.
